“As a baseball player in high school, I had a very low GPA. However, with the help of UBCE, I transferred to the Univ. of Rochester, a school with higher rankings than the top students in my high school.”
JS’s childhood dream was to become a professional baseball player, but a severe injury in high school shattered that dream. Despite attempting to focus on academics, catching up was challenging due to prior dedication to baseball. With a low high-school GPA of 8 out of 9(1 is the highest), university prospects seemed grim, especially for studying abroad.
Then, JS heard about the UBCE program from his father’s professor friend, which initially seemed too good to be true as it considered work ethic over past grades. Despite doubts, JS enrolled, arriving in Boston and receiving strong academic support from UBCE staff and teachers. Through relentless effort, JS made significant improvements in English and achieved unexpected A grades in his courses.
With mentor and professor support, JS achieved a 4.0 GPA by the end of his second year at UMass Boston. With guidance from UBCE instructors, he successfully transferred to the globally recognized University of Rochester, one of the top 30 prestigious schools in the United States, turning his educational career around.
