“I started from the lowest possible high-school grade in Korea, and now I am attending UIUC, a U.S.News #35 ranked university. “
SH had the lowest possible high-school grade in Korea due to his computer game addiction and frequent outings with friends. His father’s success added to the pressure, leaving SH feeling burdened and isolated. His regret over wasted student life left him ineligible for any Korean university.
Fortunately, SH discovered the UBCE program, offering a chance to start anew and rebuild his education. While the journey wasn’t easy, lacking essential study skills and habits, SH received unwavering support from UBCE staff and teachers during challenging times.
Through UBCE, SH excelled at the University of Massachusetts Boston, transforming into a completely different person. Once deemed a failure in his Korean high school, he became a “global asset” to those who knew him. Today, SH attends the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, surpassing the universities his high school peers attend.
